We found a large box filled with old mug shots and information cards in the garage. It was quite uncanny and solidified so many things for us. So we covered the first wall that you see when you enter the precinct with them. They really helped to blur the line between art and life, so eerily surviving the abandonment of the space. It only seemed right to bring them out into the light of day again as a memorial to absence, the absence being so multi-leveled: the original missing people, the children being lost to adulthood, corruption, and crime, the absence of the force that collected them and confined them, the absence of absence itself when the space was full of people.
